World’s Largest Beverage Competition Comes To The US in 2006

Geneva, Switzerland
March 2005—

Miami, the Metropolis of the South, a Mecca of Culture, Multi-National Flair and Sophistication of taste…what better place to host an International Competition? The World Beverage Competition, (WBC) announced today that “The World’s largest Beverage Competition” has chosen the World Trade Center in Miami and the Miami Beach Convention Center as the Host group for the 2006 World Beverage Competition. Brands from around the globe compete in the new expanded format that is offered for 2006 by the WBC. The announcements of the 2006 winners is to coincide with the World Trade Center events in early December, 2005.

To determine the “World Beverage Champions”, a panel of industry professionals from five continents use a “double blind” tasting method to judge thousands of beverages from around the world. This November, the WBC expects to field more than 10,000 beverage products, the varieties of which are nearly endless. Awards are given in each beverage classification, as each entry is numerically scored for reference and the results compiled for status rankings. This year the classifications include: Juice, Coffee, Tea, Soda, Energy, Water, Dietary, Powdered, Wine, Spirits, Beer and Non-Alcoholic Mixers, making this the most comprehensive beverage competition in the world as well.

The judges will also present the highest scoring brands with “Platinum” awards of excellence, and will choose the “Producer of the Year” award for the company who’s products shine above all others. Last year’s undisputed winner was the Imperial Distillery, as their three incomparable entries; Fabergé Imperial Vodka, Fabergé Imperial Gin and Fabergé Imperial Cognac, with a retail price topping $10,000.00 US completely stole the show. A single brand from each category is honored as “Best of Show” Gold Award winner, Silver & Bronze Awards are granted as well.
